An African dragon is not a dragon, despite its name, but a modern day Spinosaurid theropod dinosaur native to Africa. They are descended from an ancient species of Spinosaurus, Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus, that survived into the Late Cretaceous, survived the K-T mass extinction, and diversified and flourished throughout the Cenozoic era. They are the largest native modern carnivorous dinosaurs, growing up to about 49 feet long and weighing about 7 tons. They are piscivorous, mainly feeding on crustaceans, mollusks, fish, and amphibians, but can prey on crocodiles when big enough. They are nonaggressive towards sapient species/beings and dylanusids, despite their size and carnivorous diet, since they prey only on non-mammal non-bird species that lives in or near water.
