Conversations with Dead People is a 2012 American Supernatural Drama film written and directed by Terrence Malik starring Renée Zellweger, Javier Bardem, Nia Long, Samuel Le Bihan, Paul Levesque, Missy Peregrym, Kathy Ireland, Timothy Olyphant, Elliot Gould, Riley Smith, Laramie Eppler, Chad Michael Murray and famous pop singer Katy Perry in her third ever feature film role (apart from the debut in Raja Gosnell's 2011 Live Action/ Animated children's film the Smurfs and her following being Peter Jackson's Bad Names.)

Perry also secured a teen choice award for role in the film.

The film secured a 2012 Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and nomination for best supporting actress: Kathy Ireland.

It concerns six individuals of the fictional Death Lane, Orange County, California whom over the course of one night at the residence of theirs face the demons of their past, which are that of the restless spirits of those they were involved in the death of.

A man named Lazarus Barker is called upon whom is an apparent professional local Paranormal Investigator possessing the fabled sixth sense: the ability to see and communicate with the dead.

He through the use of a strange mythological machine transfers his ability to the six individuals and enhances the other each of the five senses they already possess which seem to have a tap in with the phantasmic partners.

The film was shot in Daytona, Ohio, Santa Cruz, California, Orange County and Bucklebury, Middleton.

The film was released theatrically January 8 and has received globally good critic reception and grossed beyond its high budget.

Plot[]

A group of residents living on Death Street in Daytona, Ohio begin experiencing strange happenings which are that of a dead individual they are tied to.

The residents is that of a struggling Widowed Blonde Barrister Alcoholic mother and her young 14 year old son, The mother's African American Barrister female bestfriend, The Teen Girl Babysitter of the 14 year old boy, The Babysitter's pretty teen bestfriend and Death Street's creepy janitor of the local High School to which the two teen girls attend.

It turns out the dead individuals are someone whom's death was ultimately a result of them: either by accident or purpose and on the four nights of the Lazarus moon they can attach themselves to the person.

For the alchololic Mother the spirit is that of her dead husband whom she accidentally drove to suicide, The African American Female Barrister Bestfriend's is that of the teen babysitter's thought to have fled town boyfriend whom was having an affair with her and to whom she accidentally killed, The young son's is his beloved older brother whom the night of the father's suicide was pushed down the house flight of stairs and onto a glass coffee table, The Teen Girl bestfriend of the teen babysitter's ghost is that of her grandmother whom served as their High School's Principle until her untimely fall through a principle's office glass window to which was actually a push from her, The babysitter's is that of a boy from school to whom she was having an affair with and whom hung himself upon her abandoning him and the creepy janitor's is that of his twin brother whom he accidentally killed after apprehending him late one night breaking into the school drunk.

The group call upon the teen babysitter's original Science Professor Lazarus Barker whom was fired upon coming into school ranting about attaching spirits and a machine with the ability to help rid of them.

He supplies the group with the machine whilest at the widow mother and sons' residence which oversees them be enhanced with the sixth sense ability to see and communicate with the dead as well as enhancing the one of the five senses they possess which is tapped into their ghost counterparts.

They are told to be separated into partners of two depending upon the means of death of their ghostly counterparts and sent to different locations where they will be alone and be able to draw out in two by two the spirits so they can reason with them which should help them pass over.

The little boy is left with the teen babysitter's teen bestfriend at his house, The Teen Babysitter and the Alcoholic Blonde Mother head to the local closed for renovations library on Death Street and the creepy janitor and African American Barrister Female bestfriend head over to the abandoned Victoria Theatre.

What follows is a night of horror, shocking twists and revelations and destruction.
