DC VS MORTAL KOMBAT is a 2016 fighting video game involving both Mortal Kombat and DC Universe. It is developed and published by Netherrealm Studios and WB Games.

Gameplay

A fighting game which has a button for each limb: front arm, front leg, back arm and back leg and the player can execute special moves with specific control combinations. Also they are intro and outro introduction for each character against another with two opponents' interaction being different depending on fighters.

Players can attack opponents in the air and can jump and run in combat as well as using combos involving chaining basic attacks and special moves together. Fighters are also capable of blocking and using throw moves. Many finishing moves including Fatalities, Brutalities, Faction Kills and Hara-Kiri can be used against defeated opponents. Players can use an X-Ray Move where the player can inflict massive damage which will reveal broken bones, organs, etc. in swift moves but must be filled by the Special Meter which also allows enhanced moves or combo breakers.

Superman

Superman is a Kryptonian hero and the Man of Steel with his MK counterpart being Raiden. His intro involves him flying in his Clark Kent suit by tearing off to reveal his Superman costume and then prepares to fight. His outro involves him flying into space before hearing a scream for help so Superman flies back to the world.

• Throw: Superman grabs his opponent, lifts them into the air, and throws them back to the ground.

Special Moves:

• Heat Vision: Superman fires a sweeping twin set of intense heat from his eyes at his opponent.
• Super Breath: Superman exhales a strong gust of wind to blow the opponent over.
• Up, Up and Away: Superman hovers in the air and can use heat vision, ground tremor and low scoop.
• Rising Grab: Superman grabs his opponent before flying into the air and slamming them back onto the ground.
• Flying Punch: Superman charges at his opponent and knocks them back with a sudden punch.
• Low Scoop: Superman scoops his opponent by flipping them off their feet with a quick sweep.
• Ground Tremor: Superman slams his fist into the ground, sending out shockwaves to knock over the opponent.
• Flying Ground Smash: Superman flies into the air and lunges down on his opponent from above.

X-Ray Move:

• Man of Steel: Superman flies towards his opponent and grabs them before uppercutting the opponent into space, breaking their jaw, and flies after them to hammer fist the opponent, destroying their bones, and then they fall back to the ground and Superman lands on them, breaking their ribcage.

• Deep Freeze: Sub-Zero sucker punches the opponent before plunging into their stomach to freeze and rip apart their spine. He then recoils and headbutts the opponent, shattering their skull and jaw, and then creates an icicle to violently ram into the opponent's eyeball.

• Shocker: Raiden grabs his opponent and electrocutes them.

• Static Trap: Raiden places an orb of electricity in front of himself that will last about ten seconds. He can place these orbs in various positions around him and if two are present, an electric current will flow between them to electrocute the opponent.

• Shock Therapy: Raiden shoots his opponent into the air with a blast of lightning. The opponent flies up through the clouds, and Raiden follows, grabbing the opponent and releasing a powerful electrical current through the opponent. He then summons lightning to shoot the opponent back down to the ground, who bounce off the ground, so Raiden teleports under his opponent and brings his knee to their spine, breaking it in half.

• Batcave: The secret headquarters of Batman under Wayne Manor and the interactables are grenades which can be thrown into the opponent, the Batcomputer can be bounced off and a switch can be activate the Batmobile to crash into the opponent.
• Oan Senate: The Green Lanterns Corps headquarters and the interactables are a ship turbine which can be pushed into the opponent, a suspended missile which can be thrown into the opponent and an orb that can be bounced off.
• Stryker's Island: A prison that is notable for imprisoning Superman's rogues gallery and the interactables is a mechanical guard that can attack the opponent, Metallo can be found for the opponent to be slammed into and a cryo-cell that can be bounced off.

Krypt

The Krypt is where players use earned Koins to purchase items such as concept art, videos, skins and even hidden finishing moves and characters. It has quicktime events and attacks from monsters and the Krypt has different areas to be explored. There are special items to find in the Krypt that are required to access certain areas.

Justice League

• Imprisonment: Two random Justice League members will land on the opponent, violently beat them up which shows their face disfigured horribly as well as missing skin in their body, and then the opponent is shown in a holding cell in their headquarters horribly disfigured.
• Batarang Assault: Throwing Batarangs bombard the opponent's chest, another Batarang then strikes the opponent's between the eyes. 
• Super Beam: A massive beam comes from the sky which disintergrates the opponent.
• Didn't See That Comin': Flash appears and dashes towards the opponent, slicing off the top of their head.
• Hammer Smash: Green Lantern creates two large hammers in the air which swings downwards and smashes the opponent's torso with it, causing blood to pour out.

Joker Clan

• Pick A Card: Many playing cards hit the opponent in different places, then the final one stabs their head, killing the opponent.
• Trick Gift: A present is thrown on the ground, so the opponent attempts to open it, the present then explodes and blows the opponent apart.
• Jack N' The Box: A Jack N' The Box drops and sprays Joker Venom at the opponent, causing them to laugh uncontrollably until they die with a Joker-like grin.
• Acid Bath: Acid falls down on the opponent, brutally burning them alive.
• PSYCH!: A flag saying "BANG!" impales the opponent in the chest, killing them.

A Hara-Kiri is an alternate finisher where the losing opponent would cause their own death.

Factions

An online, continuous, affiliation-based multiplayer mode in which players compete in for points that go towards their respective faction. In a Faction War, factions will have to do their best to gain as many points as possible such as winning fights, pulling off X-Rays and finishers, stringing combos together and much more. At the end of each week, a faction will be announced as the winners and every player will be awarded based on their contribution. Players can earn various rewards by competing in this mode, ranging from Faction Kills to exclusive player card customization items.

• Lin Kuei: Once a secret warrior clan, the Lin Kuei have been reformed by their new Grandmaster, Sub-Zero. They now focus their considerable power on Earthrealm's protection. Only the most powerful warriors can earn the right to call themselves Lin Kuei.
• Black Dragon: A cutthroat criminal organization, the Black Dragon perpetrates the most violent and brutal crimes imaginable. Assassination, robbery and black market weapons trafficking are among their known offenses. Their sole purpose is to hone their skills in preparation for tournaments.

Endings 

In order to gain the ending, the player will have to fight through a tower of 10 fighters both DC and Mortal Kombat with the final five always being the same; Goro, Solomon Grundy, Darksied, Shao Kahn and Dark Kahn with all being difficult and challenging to defeat especially Dark Kahn who will have three rounds even if the player has beat him twice.
