Doctor Who: The Lost Adventures is a British animated science-fiction anthology spin-off television series that airs on BBC One. It features various incarnations of The Doctor from the television series Doctor Who in new original stories branded as 'lost adventures'. The series is notable for only featuring new companions

It premiered on BBC One on December 24th 2018 with a first series comprising of 13 episodes. All former Doctors reprise their roles, with the exception of deceased actors William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee. Hartnell is replaced by David Bradley, who had portrayed Hartnell and his incarnation of the Doctor on multiple occasions. Troughton is replaced by Reece Shearsmith, who briefly portrayed Troughton in the docu-drama An Adventure in Space and Time in 2013. Pertwee was replaced with his son, Sean Pertwee.

The BBC announced a second series would air in 2020 and would be followed by a Christmas special, which would feature all 13 Doctors.
