Drug of Life is the first single of Death Flower's second album Soulsucker, released January 20th 2002 two months in advance to the album's release on March 28th 2002. The song, one of the only written by drummer Caleb Edwards, deals with his drug abuse and rehab. It is followed by Vanity Unfair. It is chronologically preceded by Blackened, released nineteen months earlier off the band's first album Eviscerating Sons of Chaos.
The band is shown playing in a indoor garden, and also a drug addict character is shown wandering past. After the first chorus the "eye of an addict" is shown in full perspective, zooming around wildly. At the end of the video the addict drops down and drinks from a fountain in the garden, becoming reborn.
