We need a Blocking Policy to enforce the safety of this Wiki.(C&C King 22:41, January 5, 2010 (UTC))

I promise to obey all Policies for the rest of my life. But the problem will be the Blocking Policy will need updates in order to keep the Wiki safe.(C&C King 23:08, January 5, 2010 (UTC))
- Blocking policies typically don't require updates unless the wiki itself goes through changes, such as what type of atmosphere it wants to set, how to deal with vandalism, etc. Also keep in mind that blocking policies aren't what keeps a wiki safe, as you refer to it. Blocking policies are simply a tool that says what wiki administrators can and cannot do, as established by the community. They already have the power to deal with vandals, trolls, spammers, etc. simply because of their status as an administrator. Since there's really no vandalism here, I'll use Star Wars Fanon as an example. On that wiki we have the occasional troll or (sometimes disturbingly graphic) vandal, though more recently we've had IP spammers just spamming advertisements and things like that (it's happening on a lot of active wikis). The blocking policy doesn't tell us that we can block people like that. It tells us how long we can ban them for and what we can't do when blocking them. Even if there was no blocking policy there, people would still be blocked when they act up. Anywho, that's not to say that I wouldn't support your proposal.
