Henry Goodburg is a major antagonist in the Gun Guy franchise. He is a drug kingpin and brutal human trafficker in the Armagedoni Islands in Northwestern Africa. He is the leader of Goodburg Industries; a large criminal organization successful due to it's illegal activities such as selling weapons on the black market, drug dealing and human trafficking as well as having his own mercenary group and even pirates hired to protect Henry and his businesses. Henry rules the islands with an iron fist, being a very dangerous individuals who often decides the fate of those who sets foot on his island.
History[]
Early Life[]
Henry Goodburg was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2419. As a child, Henry had a tough upbringing due to his abusive father, who worked as a diamond miner. Despite this abuse, Henry respected his job as a diamond miner but began developing a deep hatred for his father and eventually killed him as revenge for the abuse with his own shovel, so Henry became a member of a consortium of pirates and drug dealers. Determined to take over, Henry stabbed the man in charge to death in front of his family to gain leadership and was respected by many pirates.
Discovering Armagedoni Islands[]
Around that time, Henry had became an international drug dealer and human trafficker, selling people and drugs for large sums of money. At one point prior to 2454, Henry discovered the dangerous Armagedoni Islands in Northwestern Africa and took them over with the help of his mercenary group. After taking over the islands, Henry established Goodburg Industries, with Henry calling it his "life's work" as one of the the biggest slave, weapons and drug trafficking rings around the globe.
Henry also met a warrior named Carlos Vintern, who had become addicted to killing. Finding potential in him, Henry offered Carlos money and power, to which he could not turn down. Carlos came to not only become Henry's right hand man but also owned a half of the island with a mercenary group under his command and helped Henry with delivering drugs overseas or capturing people for ransom.
Henry's base of operations is on the Southern Island, which is protected by his mercenaries. Henry would also be associated with a German inventor named Sofia Panzer; who would trick people to come to the islands and also provided advanced technology to Henry in exchange for a large sum of money and discount in the trade. Henry also hired many hitmen and offered them a home in the islands and discount in the trade as well as large amount of cash for each kill. Eventually, Sophia sold a case to Henry after the arrival of the Poweruza's; various guns, tasers and restraints designed to neutralize the race's powers.
Poweruza's Arrival[]
During David Killhill's and a small amount of WDF forces including Poweruzas Claire Rames and Hanzo Tohdoh as well as Colonel Yuri Bonchy search on the Armagedoni Islands to locate the source of anti-Poweruza equipment and weaponry, however during their operation, they also encounter Emperor John Chains and his Great Empire forces, who is also searching for the source. A firefight ensues before this ends up causing their separation and while their present on the island, Goodburg is at one of his business deals and instead, David has to deal with Carlos Vintern during his absence, who manages to eliminate most of David's forces and sets a trap which ends up capturing David, Claire, Hanzo and Yuri as well as three surviving soldiers. The soldiers are killed but the other prisoners manage to escape and Henry eventually returns to his island.
Carlos informs Henry on the situation, causing him to scold Carlos for his brash actions but then orders him to take care of the situation while he ships off slaves to some buyers. Tohdoh reveals that WDF Intelligence has been keeping tabs on Henry for years, deeming him has a dangerous and infamously powerful criminal. After Carlos manages to again capture the group, Henry arrives to oversee their deaths however before he could arrive on the scene, Carlos is killed and the prison compound was destroyed while the group escape, causing Henry to retreat back to his headquarters. However Tohdoh is killed.
Realizing that Henry is the man in charge of the enemies, David plans to draw him out by burning his drug fields and this leads to Henry heading to a native village, executing the citizens after he claims them to be hiding the "terrorists" and brutally kills a civilian every minute he doesn't get the group's location. After executing three villagers and burning down a house, he moves to murder a child but David arrives and stops him. Henry pulls out a knife to kill David, claiming he's going to avenge Carlos, but David has secretly commanded one of Henry's bodyguards to kill him. When the assassination failed, Henry killed the guard and realized David's power, using his anti-Poweruza gun and ring to subdue David, Claire and Hanzo, having them captured to be sold off to buyers across the world.
It is also revealed that Henry also had Chains captured and had taken his surviving men prisoner and burned them alive sadistically. After Chains threatens to kill Henry, Goodburg comments that Chains is no longer powerful and stabs him in the knee. After having his prisoners tortured and informed about their shipment dates, Henry has two bodyguards bring David to his office and during their meeting, Henry grabs a knife and threatens to cut out David's left eye to make him powerless, but doesn't end up doing so, claiming that it will make David worthless.
David eventually manages to break out of his cell after tricking a guard and use his power on him, freeing him and eventually freeing his friends. Simultaneously, Chains frees himself by causing a guard to break down into wanting to kill him, breaking his restraints and freeing Chains, who violently kills the guard too. While David claims he wants to apprehend Henry and interrogate him about the anti-Poweruza weaponry, he learns that Chains is also after Henry and wants to kill him, so they race to find Henry before Chains can.
Final Gamble []
After destroying the headquarters and freeing the prisoners as well as destroying most of Goodburg's forces, David, Claire and Hanzo confront and capture Henry, questioning him about the anti-Poweruza technology and after Henry refuses and tries to use an anti-Poweruza gun to kill David, Claire breaks Henry's hand, disarming him, and David then uses his power to find the answers after destroying his ring. David discovers that Henry's associate, Sophia Panzer, has been creating and supplying him with such technology. After gaining this information, David arrests Henry and, after traveling through the chaos on the island, GE reinforcements arrive and Chains orders his troops to hunt down and capture Henry.
After a firefight, David, while trying to take Henry back to the ship, separates from him due to an explosion. However, David decides to leave him due to the closing enemy forces, so David, Claire and Hanzo escape via a ship, with David claiming that Chains will most likely just kill Henry. Chains then captures and brings Henry to a pillar, announcing his public execution in front of his army. As Chains is about to kill Henry, the old man begs for his life and tries to use his business to convince Chains to let him live. However, Chains denies Henry's pleas before using his Silver Tooth knife to slit Henry's throat and kick his corpse off the pillar.
Personality[]
Henry Goodburg appeared to be a sadistic, viscous, emotionless, deranged and mentally unstable psychopath who was shown ruthlessly torturing and executing innocents was the main reason for his islands' endless turmoil that has taken the lives of many of the residents in the island whom Henry despises. He has a crude and bloodthirsty nature.
