Infamy (also stylized as inFamy) is a 2011 American Drama film written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore and directed by David Koepp starring Callan McAuliffe, Ricky Martin, Gwen Stefani, Jane Lynch, Amanda Bynes, Luke Benward, Liana Liberato, Alecia Moore and Michael Sheen.

The film is inspired by the story of Jonah Mowry along with a collection of other stories and was released first at the Carins film festival on March 30th, 2011 and theatrically April 10th, 2011.

The film was praised by critics and audiences and received a Primetime Emmy and lead actor McAuliffe received an Emmy Award for best actor.

The film is set in 2004.

Plot[]

Jack Steenholdt (Callan McAuliffe) comes out to his mother Alana (Gwen Stefani) and older brother Adrian (Shawn Ashmore) that he is gay and is shut off by them as they attempt to deal with his homosexuality.

His brother Adrian lets slip to his bestfriend Ferren (Nicholas D' Agosto) who tells his brother Jackson (Connor Cruise) who begins to harass and bully Jack.

Jack's bestfriend Alex Bairmont (Luke Benward) sticks by him despite him struggling to except his bestfriend's sexuality and his other bestfriend Amy Gretchen (Liana Liberato) accepts his orientation almost immediatley despite her teacher father Mr. Rols Gretchen (Michael Sheen) being a homophobic.

Jack comes to committ suicide as the bullying goes all over facebook, myspace, skype and formspring.

He chains himself to a large rock and plunges himself into the lake near the Steenholdt home.

His body is recovered by his brother Adrian who apologizes to his lifeless body.

His mother then calls upon her lesbian sister Gretchen Morse (Alecia Moore) who she hasn't spoke to in a long time because of her sexuality and what's help in prosecuting Jackson Gills and everyone who colloborated in the bullying of her son.

The film ends with the charges being dropped and a memorial school service and parade held for Jack led by his friends, Ferren, his brother Adrian and the rest of the Varsity Football team.
