JP-B312 or Jon Patrick, also known as Noble Six, is a SPARTAN-III Commando of the Naval Special Warfare Command.
JP-B312 served with Noble Team under the callsign "Noble Six" as Thom-293's replacement during the Fall of Reach in 2552. Noble Six is remarked to be a skilled assassin and "more of a hyper-lethal vector than a soldier", as evidenced from Noble Six's heavily redacted personnel file. Noble Six has a tendency to "go solo" during missions, much to the dismay of superiors. Additionally, Noble Six seems to have been assigned to Noble Team despite the wishes of Noble Six's former superior who is said to have used Noble Six as "his own private grim reaper."
JP volunteered for the SPARTAN-III program after the death of his entire family at the hands of the Covenant. He was not as big or physically imposing as the rest, but he was a fierce fighter for his size. His main strong-point was his wit, however, mainly in knowledge of weapons and how they operate. He also boxed with his father on occasion, which led to his martial arts being sloppier, and more aggressive than other SPARTANS. B312 was taken out of Beta Company immediately before Operation TORPEDO.
Fall of ReachEdit
- "Beautiful, ain't it. Someone should take a picture. Nice work, by the way."
- "I aim to please."
During the final weeks before Reach's eventual glassing, Noble Six partook in multiple operations against Covenant forces on Reach along with the rest of Noble Team, including a counter-offensive operation to retake an ONI base, a night-time reconnaissance mission with Jun-A266 (where the two Spartans forged a temporary alliance with some local militia), and a large-scale UNSC assault on a Covenant-occupied site and the neutralization of a Covenant tower.
On August 14th, Noble Team helped UNSC ground forces repel Covenant invaders from a UNSC base, which housed a Sabre launch facility. SPARTAN-B312 and Jorge-052 were then launched into orbit in a Sabre to assist the Epsilon Eridani Defense Fleet in a space battle against the Covenant fleet, in a UNSC counter-offensive codenamed Operation: UPPERCUT. During the course of the operation, the makeshift slipspace bomb was damaged and unable to activate automatically. Jorge, volunteering to activate the bomb manually and as such sacrificing his life, forced B312 off the Covenant corvette. UPPERCUT was successful, with the Covenant fleet eliminated but at the cost of Jorge-052. However, a far larger Covenant fleet arrived mere moments after the successful operation.
Six, after reentering Reach from space, headed to New Alexandria, where the Spartan assisted the UNSC infantrymen in repelling the invading Covenant forces and evacuating the civilian population. The Spartan managed to establish radio communication with Noble Team and participated in the removal of Covenant communication jammers to allow the evacuation of ONI personnel. Six finally reunited with Noble Team and reported the details of UPPERCUT. Not too long after, Noble Team was hailed by its commanding officer, Colonel Urban Holland, and was ordered to destroy Sword Base in a torch-and-burn op. The team was forced to enter a radiation bunker to shield themselves from the Covenant's glassing of New Alexandria. However, Kat-B320 was killed by sniper fire en route to the bunker.
Noble Six, along with the remaining members of Noble Team, proceeded to Sword Base and fought their way into the facility, only to have their directives revised by an unknown UNSC AI. In the facility, they encounter Dr. Halsey once more. Six was urged by the scientist to become the courier of a package and to deliver it safely to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. Using Pelicans as their mode of transportation, Noble Team was split into two; Jun-A266 escorted Dr. Halsey to CASTLE Base while the others headed for the Autumn, which was being refit at the Aszod Shipyard. Noble Six and Emile-A239 departed from Carter-A259's Pelican and, on foot, successfully delivered the package to the captain of the Autumn, Captain Jacob Keyes. However, Six and Emile encountered a Scarab, and Carter flew his Pelican directly into it, destroying both the Scarab and pelican. Later on, the Covenant assaulted the area and Emile was killed by being stabbed in the back with an energy sword, but not before killing the elites who attacked him. Then, Six manned the Onager and stalled the Covenant forces from overwhelming the Autumn. The Spartan destroyed the approaching Covenant cruiser, allowing the Autumn to depart into space.
With the Covenant successfully disabling Reach's defenses, Six was among the few surviving UNSC soldiers left fighting the Covenant forces on the ground. Six continued fighting, and held off an army of Covenant, including Wraith tanks and air support. Six was eventually heavily wounded by plasma fire and, after taking on multiple Ultra and Zealot Class Elites in hand to hand combat, was finally overwhelmed and killed amongst a pile of his slain enemies at the hands of no less than an Elite Field Marshall wielding an Energy Dagger. Six's helmet remained on Reach, even after the planet was glassed by the Covenant and after the planet was terraformed.
Personality / AbilitiesEdit
- "What can I say? I like messing with people. It's interesting seeing their reactions."
Six was younger than anyone else in the 313, and as a result, David and Kelly often brought it upon themselves to be a little too careful around him, maybe with good reason. JP had a knack of messing with people's heads, playing mind games, mostly for fun, or to see what their reactions are. What is alarming is how he can do so and fight efficiently at the same time. Still, it borders on insubordination.
Even though he is young, he has seen a lot in his few years, and the experiences have had more than a little mental impact on his psychological stability. Six actually enjoys fights, he enjoys killing, and at the same time he knows what must be done. David has often felt uneasy being around an individual that revels in such a horrendous act, David, like most SPARTANS, doesn't care about killing since he's accustomed to it, but he still feels uneasy, as, in his viewpoint, it is a very immoral thought pattern.
JP's true skill was the work of an assassin. David noted that Six had the ability to cross a cavernous room filled wall to wall with paranoid Covenant soldiers without his existence even being realized. Whenever he and Kelly were discussing an op, Six had the frustrating habit of 'showing up out of nowhere', which almost resulted in David breaking his neck a few times.
Weaponry wise, even though he did his best to conceal the fact, the weapons he were best with were scoped weapons, in particular the S2AM Sniper Rifle. In David's personal opinion Six was far superior to Linda in terms of sniping abilities, but he did note that she had one thing he didn't, patience. JP once shot the rocket from an M41 Rocket Launcher out of the air without even aiming down the scope, but he couldn't sit there all day and snipe enemies, he had to be in the thick of it all, which is why his favorite weapon above all, easy to conceal, easy to use, had a scope, had a sizable amount of ammo per clip, was the M6D Magnum. Every time JP had his hands on an M6D the battlefield immediately turned in favor of ERV-313, because once JP started getting kills, he didn't stop until everything was dead. Luckily they were rarely accompanied by allies on their missions.
- JP has exhibited, at least in David-010's opinion anyway, more extraordinary sniping abilities than Linda-058, who is usually considered by many the best sniper in the UNSC. This is possibly due to the fact nobody knows him as well as David.
- His favorite weapon is the M6D Personal Defense Weapon System, according to David-010, and he is also exponentially impressive, ability-wise, with the SRS-99C S2-AM.
- JP-B312 is one of the stealthiest SPARTANS out of both IIs and IIIs.
- The developers, like David-010, have concluded that there is no canon version of SPARTAN-b312, and the character, Jon Patrick, is a creative stand-in for the SPARTAN-B312 identity, and will be used strictly for marketing and future projects. From this, it can be assumed from many sources that indicate it, that most of the information in this article is ONI/UEG propaganda, and the true history behind B312 is, and always will be, unknown.
