Other Land is a fan-fiction by Manta-bee the spring-summer of 2011, and features the Alvin and the Chipmunks characters and some crossover appearances like koyo and the hedgehogs by others, such as the Sonic the Hedgehog characters. It was written as a graphic novel, but may have an animated adaptation.
Mantha- An emotionally disturbed 17-18 year old young woman, who looks two years younger than her actual age. She is reality challenged and shunned by the people in her life, with her domineering younger brother, who is two years younger than her and treats her like a child, claiming that Mantha acts like nothing is ever her fault and while he and other people strongly believe she is an attention-seeker, she believes her family members are ganging up on her. Mantha detached from her real friends because she decided she no longer liked them and were terrible people who were very immature, then she makes friends with the Chipmunks and the Chipettes and other strange creatures. Alvin seems to encourage Manta to do bad things and make trouble. Mantha is said to suffer from Histrionic or Borderline Personality Disorder and possibly Schitzophrenia and is also said to have Asperger's Syndrome, albeit mild. She is bored with her lack of a life and once said that even catching the stomach flu seemed like fun from her perspective. Very sensitive, emotional and prone to crying spells, but in later chapters, she gets less sensitive and genuinely develops a love for discord and being pulled into bad situations by bad seeds, and seeks out to learn how to be less sensitive and emotional. She then says she wants to be a bad seed herself, as she thinks she can't do anything right and a disaster she would always be, so she seems eager to "destroy herself". In later stories, she gets back with her old "immature" friends, realizing she isn't very mature herself. Her main focuses vary, from looking for trouble, to trying to sedate herself, to looking for a mean boyfriend, although so far she hasn't been doing an acutal search.
Chipmunks and hedgehogsEdit
The leader and the trouble maker of the group. In one segment/chapter, a party was held at his house. The party became advertised widely, even some characters outside the series came and at when the party had ended, the house was a mess, causing Dave to yell his famous line "ALVIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!" Starting from Chapter 3, he starts swearing, cracking dirty jokes and doing other bad things, though it turns out that the Evil Alvin has been framing him.
Simon- The most intellegent of the group, posesses a very dry sense of humor as well as a keen wit. He hopes Alvin does not actually drag Mantha into sticky situations or "half-baked "schemes. In some parts of the story, he is seen holding and ice pack to his head, possibly suffering headaches from frustration at Alvin pulling Mantha into things and Mantha's indecisive nature.
Theodore- The youngest of the brothers, he seems to be always hungry. He usually stays quiet most of the time, but has his shining moments.
Brittany- The unofficial leader of the Chipettes, and her exuberance often serves as the impetus for their adventures. Although she is prone to vanity, selfishness, and materialism, and has a notoriously short fuse, Brittany cares deeply for her siblings and often acts as their defender. Brittany is dynamic, ambitious, fearless, competitive, and possessed of a desire to always have her way, although she stops short of true ruthlessness.
Jeanette- She can be best described as the "absent-mind professor" of the group. Gifted with extraordinary intelligence, she often is so caught up in contemplating the universe that she forgets the simple matters of life, such as not tripping over her own feet. She's actually more like Theodore than Simon in a sense, as they are both sweet, timid, and shy, but her interests and talents are closer to Simon's. Jeanette has very poor vision, and is virtually helpless without her glasses.
Eleanor- Self-assured, confident, and extremely maternal despite her age. She is a gifted athlete and a mini-olympiad in any field of sport. Eleanor is quite strong-willed, and is far more likely than the timid Jeanette to stand up to her sister Brittany when she feels that she is wrong. She usually often points out when the humans in Mantha's life are wrong about her. (Which usually ends up in said people to beat up or to make fun of Mantha.)
koyo-The leader and the trouble maker of the group. In one segment/chapter, a party was held at his house. The party became advertised widely, even some characters outside the series came and at when the party had ended, the house was a mess, causing Dave to yell his famous line "koyoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!" Starting from Chapter 3, he starts swearing, cracking dirty jokes and doing other bad things, though it turns out that the Evil Alvin and alvin has been framing him.
pummba-he can be best described as the "absent-mind professor" of the group. Gifted with extraordinary intelligence, she often is so caught up in contemplating the universe that she forgets the simple matters of life, such as not tripping over her own feet. he's actually more like Simon then anti birttney in a sense, as they are both sweet, timid, and shy, but her interests and talents are closer to Simon's. pummba has very unpoor vision, and is virtually helpful without his glasses.
antoine-The young of the brothers, he seems to be always make video games. He usually stays quiet most of the time, but has his shining moments.
mr. gonzalz-The oldest of the brothers, he seems to be always hungry. He usually stays quiet most of the time, but has his shining moments of food priazmed.
amy-The leader of the sisters, he seems to be always hungry. He usually stays quiet most of the time, but has his shining moments of food priazmed.
rouge-The oldest of the sisters, he seems to be always hungry. He usually stays quiet most of the time, but has his shining moments of food priazmed.
uslrua-The yoguhest of the sisters, he seems to be always hungry. He usually stays quiet most of the time, but has his shining moments of food priazmed.
mrs.tunner-The diapered of the sisters, he seems to be always hungry. He usually stays quiet most of the time, but has his shining moments of food priazmed.
The Anti ChipmunksEdit
Anti-Alvin - Alvin's evil counterpart. He may seem similar, but he is deliberatly destructive, swears, and encourages these acts in whoever he chooses to be his pawn. He is misanthropic and dirty jokes happen to be his forte, as he will make perverted remarks or extract crudity out of innocent sentnces. He is seen wearing sunglasses and a black leather jacket.
Anti-Simon - Simon's evil counterpart. He is somewhat of an evil genius. He believes that humans are inferior beings, and loves to perform experiments on them. Although due to his belief of humans being insignifigant, he would never hurt them unless they hurt him first. He wears a black beret and seems to have some facial hair.
Looks just like Theodore, except with dark hair combed to one side and has a scar on his face. He has Theodore's youthful charm, but with a violent rebellious streak, making him stubborn and picky.
She possesses Brittany's talent for leadership, but nothing else positive, she is a ruthless leader. A sadist in every sense that Brittany is compassionate. Looks exactly like Brittany, except she has shorter bangs that stick straight up and wears blue eyeshadow, a purple scarf and black knee-high boots. She is just as destructive and foul-mouthed as Anti-Alvin.
She is very intelligent like Jeanette, but unlike her, is far more likely than Anti-Eleanor to stand up to Anti-Brittany when she feels that she is wrong. Her dress style is semi-goth.
Has yet to appear, she wears a midrif and skirt with a jacket, fishnet stockings with platform sandals and her pigtails are more messy than Eleanor's. She is less likely to attempt to stop Anti-Brittany when she's scheming.
She loves causing trouble and bullying others, often encourages Alvin to make trouble, but then tells Mantha to kill the Chipmunks with a knife, which Mantha refuses, of course. For some strange reason, she dosen't seem to appear again after some stories, but returns and stops being adversarial and takes on more of the role of an anti-heroic ally.
Laura- A 16-year-old girl who is summoned by the Mistress of Ecchi Mansion and is frequently invited to her parties. She appears bubbly, ditzy and carefree, but later explains the things that happen in the mansion are bad.
Flora- A flower sprite briefly seen the segment/chapter "Never Be, Never Have".
Sonic the Hedgehog
The fastest supersonic hedgehog around. Alvin is usually jealous of him because of the attention he gets from Mantha. Makes a cameo when he is seen entering the house from the window and another when he is tied up stuck to the celing.
Tails "Miles" Prower An intelligent two-tailed fox who specializes in mechanics and enjoys flying planes. Alvin may also envy the attention Mantha gives him, but it was never shown or revealed. He is seen breifly when tied up and stuck to the celing.
Knuckles the Echidna Powerful echidna. Alvin envies the attention he gets from Mantha and once said that he hates him with a passion because Mantha is so obsessed with him. His main appearances are when he is seen climbing through the window of the house, when tied up and stuck to the celing, when he is lying limp on the floor at one of the Ecchi Mistress' parties, another in one of Mantha's dreams where he is injured due to electric shock and another when his identity is concealed when he is a witness discribing what happened at the party.
Possibly Mantha from the future, except she has dyed her hair blonde, has gotten plastic surgery, as she has a thinner-looking face, a bigger bust and has obviously had a nose job, so she dosen't look like her former self and it is very difficult to see the resemblance between them. She owns a mansion where she gathers many characters for mysterious and possibly degrading activities during her parties. The characters were said to return home up to two weeks later, usually not remembering what happened.
Coraline Jones- Mentioned when Alvin tells Mantha not to talk to her (because of his jealous nature, as he wants Mantha's full attention) and seen briefly in the house party, and tied up while in stocking feet. It is unknown if she'll ever be seen again in the story.
An emotinally disturbed, sensitive and misunderstood teenage girl is lonely for friends, then finds friends in the Chipmunks and the Chipettes. Since she is also exploring more aspects of her life when growing up, strange things happen, and all in an imaginary world that she likes to run off to...
(After this point, the Mansion Mistress is not mentioned again directly, but may make a return)
Mantha decides that being good is not worth it, so the idea of causing trouble seems attractive to her. It is not made clear if this is because of Alvin's influence or her own thoughts. Later, she ponders about her "love" and whether or not she will/should see her real friends again.
Mantha graduates from high school. This part marks the first appearance of the Chipettes. No story development has been given so far except that the Anti-Chipmunks reveal themselves as so the hedgehogs and the hedgepettes comes for the stages to rockest n rollest to challegne the chipmunk and the chipettes.
Summer has come and Mantha spirals yet again. She writes in a journal for most of the segments now the hedgehog and the hedgepettes jion chipmunk and chipettes.

Reception and CriticismEdit
The author has shown off her work to a select amount of people, most of whom admired her work, but the basis for criticism has also been in effect, as this story seems to be darker than most Chipmunks stories, and Evil Alvin has been the point of controversy for his sailor mouth. The author stated "Of course only the EVIL Alvin would say such things."
A more heavily edited version is seen mainstream. The uncut version is only obtainable through a code to be entered online. Other Land was also edited for age-appropriate issues as the anime was originally aimed at older teenagers.
These are the following content edited from the movie.
- Clear refferences to sexual dialougue or acts were omitted.
- Profanities (mostly uttered by the Anti-Alvin) were also ommited or were bleeped out.
- Intense violence was also cut, otherwise the screen went black during the actual acts and usually, gory aftermath was not shown.
There are several versions, so variations in edited and unedited scenes will occur.
[this list is incomplete, as more info will be added].
- Mantha keeps mentioning a "love". It is never shown who it is. Only by visiting a certain site or cracking a secret code that would be availible in the end of the last chapter one could reveal her secret love.
- Although Manta wants a boyfriend who is cruel to her, many nice guys have fallen for her. Of course, she rejects them all.
- The names of Mantha's family members have never been revealed, she simply reffers to them as "my brother", "my sister" or "my mom".
- When Evil Alvin first appears, he looks exactly like the good Alvin. However, in promotional art, the Evil Alvin wears sunglasses and a black leather jacket, characteristic of Sonic the Hedgehog's evil counterpart, Scourge the Hedgehog in the Archie comics.
