Ride The Time Spiral Against The Bombardment of Technology, often shortened to Ride The Time Spiral, is the second album from American progressive metal band Nostradamus, released on June 5th 2004. It has sold over 13 million copies as of 2009, and remains both Nostradamus' highest selling and most recognised album. It is preceded by 2001's Prediction and followed by 2007's Warrior On The Edge of the Abyss.

ConceptEdit

Concepts are mixed in the album, ranging from the obvious technological uprising to a war between two factions. Mirasuki said in an interview when asked what the album is about "I don't know really. We were smoking some heavy shit that day, man!". The song "Bladerunner" is based off the 1982 film of the same name, and the band have stated that they are fans. The song "Alexander" is about Alexander the Great.

ReceptionEdit

The album sold a whopping 100,000 copies in its first week, remaining #1 on the metal charts for over a month. Reviews were hugely positive, ranging from "a prog metal masterpiece that will stand the test of time" to "a fucking legendary work". Despite its huge sucess, Mirasuki has said it is his least favourite album.

LegacyEdit

Majority of the album is played at live shows, as it dominates the setlist of the band. According to Mirasuki and bassist Josiah Badara, they grow tired of playing the songs over and over again, and want fans to look past the album and onwards.
