Sonic Edge is a 2D Action/Adventure Platforming Fan Game Containing elements from Sonic Rush and Sonic Unleashed. The game utilizes the Game Maker Studio software and a Custom Engine to Replicate the Sol Engine and its mechanics. elements are similar in terms of the popular Fan Game Sonic Vs. Darkness: True Nightmare Revived but New Characters, All new Stages, and a Story that Brings back Memories.

Boost[]
This is quite simple, This gives you a Burst Of Speed and is obtained by defeating Enemies. you can also Get the Max Boost Gimmick which Gives you Maximum Boost Capacity.
Edge Burst[]
A new Mechanic that is only used during Boss Fights, once filled, you can unleash a powerful Special Ability which Can Stun, Damage, Or even Defeat your Enemies that Appear During the boss fights. making it easier to Get a Chance to Defeat the Major Threat.

| Checkpoint Gate | Checkpoint Gates are Respawn Points in case you lose a Life. these also Show how far ahead or behind you are to Beating the Best Time or your Own Record. |
| Speed Shoes/Rush Mode | Speed Shoes (or Rush Mode for some characters) are used to Move faster without the use of boost, however the amount of time is Limited and lasts about 15 Seconds. |
| Zone Keys | These are Keys to Warp Pads that lead to Special Stages, To gain these you must complete the Special Challenge within either Act 1 or Act 2 of a Given Zone |
| Invincibility | This Gimmick makes you invulnerable to everything but Bottomless Pits. lasts about 10 Seconds |
| Edge Burst | Only Obtainable during Boss Fights, This allows you to Fill your Edge Burst Gauge Half-way. making it Easier to Fill the gauge up. |

| Trick Ramps | These are Ramps that Allow you to Perform Tricks in Mid-Air, use the Movement Buttons to Perform Tricks then use the Jump Button to perform the Trick Finisher. |
| Dash Pads | These are Pads that Give you a Small Burst of Speed, Usually seen near Loops, Long Straight Sections and other Sections that Force you to Go Upside Down. |
| Dash Rings | These are rings that give you a Boost in the air, allowing you to further Reach areas you can't Reach just by Running or Jumping in short Distances. |
| Rainbow Dash Rings | These are the same as the Dash Rings with a Huge Difference. These allow you to Perform Tricks in the air. |
