Ultimate Bond: Dr. No To Die Another Day is a 2009 first-person shooter developed by Never Say Die Inc. and published by EA Games. The game chronicles the events of every James Bond film from Dr. No until Die Another Day, with Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan all returning to voice their respective incarnations of 007. Notable Bond villain actors including Yaphett Koto, Sir Christopher Lee, Christopher Walken, Robert Davi, Sean Bean, Jonathan Pryce, Robert Carlyle, Sophie Marceau and Toby Stephens also appear as the voices of their respective characters.
Actors from the earlier films are recreated by capturing footage from the films, though they are voiced by voice actors. Unlike the films were some recurring villains (most notably Ernst Stavro Blofeld) are portrayed by multiple actors, in game he is consistently modeled after Donald Pleasence (who played Stavro in 1967's "You Only Live Twice"). In multiplayer, Stavro's other incarnations may be used however.
The game began production back in 1996 with the intention to adapt it further as the technology allowed to replicate the experience of the Bond films through a video game. MGM agreed to the project and funded it also. The proper game was unveiled at E3 2008 with guests Roger Moore and Sean Connery expressing their excitement of the game. It was released on the 31st of October to tie in with the 22nd 007 film, Quantam of Solace. Ultimate Bond: Dr. No To Die Another Day sold well and received generally positive reviews.
The game is divided into chapters, each representing the main plot of its respective film. Bond appears and uses the same gadgets as he does in the films depending on the chapter. The game contains elements of first-person shooting, as well as minigames in the form of the various tasks seen in the films.
In keeping with Bond game tradition, the multiplayer in Ultimate Bond: Dr. No To Die Another Day features several modes, including the popular Man With the Golden Gun mode.
Along with this there is "Survival", where one team is comprised off Bond villain and henchman and the other is solely James Bond, who to balance the difficulty is stronger than the other players. The defeat Bond the rival team has to use their superior numbers. In "Disarm" players begin as a default MI6 agent, and must kill the most enemies to advance to Bond, whereupon they can disarm a bomb. The match may be lost be either the bomb's timer running out or if it is detonated early. c
