Wolverine and the X-Men is a 2015 American superhero film and reboot of the previous X-Men film series. So far, there are 3 sequels, X-Men 2: The Gathering Storm, Marvel Origins: The Wolverine and X3: Requiem.
Anna Marie is a young girl with the power to drain the life force from anyone she touches. After accidentally putting her boyfriend into a coma, she goes on the run and eventually winds up in Canada, where she meets a man named Logan. Logan is attacked by his brother, Victor Creed AKA Sabretooth, and both he and Anna are saved by Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Ororo Munroe (Storm). They are taken to the X-Mansion in New York, where they meet Professor Charles Xavier. Xavier explains that he runs the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, and wishes to welcome Wolverine and Anna in. Anna takes on the name Rogue.
In Congress, Senator Robert Kelly calls for the enforcement of the Mutant Registration Act, which forces all mutants to publicly reveal their names and abilities. Shapeshifter Mystique and leaper Toad kidnap Kelly and take him their leader; Erik Lensherr, AKA Magneto, and former friend of Xavier. Magneto subjects Kelly to a machine he created which turns humans into mutants. Kelly uses his new mutant ability to escape and winds up at the Xavier Institute. However, due to the instability of his mutation, he perishes.
Rogue has an accident which accidentally incapacitates Wolverine, and is then approached by a disguised Mystique, who tells her that Xavier is angry with her. She decides to leave the school but is intercepted at the airport by Magneto's allies and kidnapped.
The team figures out that during Kelly's mutation, Magneto was severely weakened. He plans to use Rogue's ability for power transfer to power the machine. He is constructing the machine on Liberty Island, as some world leaders are meeting on Ellis Island and he plans to mutate them.
The team soon arrive at the Statue of Liberty and race to the top to foil Magneto, where a battle ensues. Storm uses her power to strike Toad with a bolt of lightning and he falls into the Hudson, and Sabretooth suffers a similar defeat at the hands of Cyclops. Storm confronts Wolverine, he realises that she is actually Mystique and stabs her. He then rushes to the machine and manages to destroy it, but before he can save Rogue, he is attacked by Magneto. After a battle, Wovlerine prevails and touches Rogue, transferring his healing ability to her and saving her. Mystique escapes by impersonating Senator Kelly.
Xavier informs Wolverine of an abandoned military facility in Canada, which could reveals clues about Wolverine's past, so Wolverine leaves to investigate. Rogue meets Bobby Drake, or Iceman. Xavier plays chess with Magneto, now imprisoned in a plastic cell, and the villain informs he that he will continue his vendetta, and Xavier tells him that he will always be there to stop him. Jean and Scott embrace their romance, and the team earns it's name; the X-Men.
